Introduction

Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) provides a structured approach to planning, implementing, monitoring, and closing development projects. It equips NGO professionals with practical project management tools that improve programme quality, strengthen donor compliance, and ensure resources are used effectively to achieve sustainable development outcomes.

This five-day course develops practical PMD Pro skills through real development project scenarios and hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how to initiate projects, engage stakeholders, develop work plans, manage risks and resources, monitor performance, and deliver successful projects that meet organisational and donor expectations.

Objectives

1. Apply PMD Pro principles and tools to plan, implement, monitor, and close development projects effectively.
2. Develop project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and risk registers aligned with programme objectives.
3. Engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and manage communication to support successful implementation.
4. Monitor project performance using practical indicators, reporting tools, and adaptive management techniques.
5. Conduct project reviews, capture lessons learned, and strengthen organisational project management capability.

- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
